Hey, I'm Almost Famous

Well, it turns out that some of my photos have made it onto a climbing web site. What do you know? That was a great time, and Derin and her hubbie Martin were fantastic people to climb with.
Derin is Turkish, a professor in fine arts. Martin, like myself, is another home-brewer. I've been letting them know how my attempts at making absinthe are turning out. I don't really know if I want to sample the stuff, quite personally.

Ah, the joys of computers

I just love coming to work in the morning, and seeing that I have e-mails with links to funny trailers, like the new Austin Powers movie, or someone making fun of Word help.

Climbing High, Feeling No-so High

One thing I never got used to was interviewing folks over the phone. Did it a few years ago with Dan Bern, who turned out to have absolutely nothing to say. Try writing 450 words about a guy who couldn't talk his way past a fart. Great music, though.
So, last night, putting things off until about 11:30pm, I gave a call to Barry Blanchard, a Métis alpinist who's coming to Montreal to give a slideshow before heading off to climb Nuptse. Had my questions all written but, come time to talk, I came across like some unknowing fan. Embarassing.

Good news!

Well, it seems that I won't lose my job this month, even if there are only two days left to if. Turns out, there's a company interested in selling one of our products, part of the Wireless Village concept. Good news.

Well, everyone's doing the Blog thing, I thought I should join the fun. No one will ever accuse me of being an original.
